Poppy's Story
Poppy is a petite 14‑lb, 1‑year‑old sweetheart who has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Coming from a home with 15 dogs and surviving a life‑threatening uterine infection, she is truly a little miracle. Thanks to emergency surgery and lots of love, she’s now ready for a fresh start with a family who will show her what love, kindness and patience look like.

Poppy is a soft, sensitive soul. She’s still learning the basics of this big world—potty training, leash walking, and feeling confident outside are all new to her. She has consistent accidents and isn’t a fan of the leash yet, but she tries her best and blossoms with gentle encouragement. While Poppy is still healing and training, she will do best with an adopter who’s home often and can be her steady, comforting presence as she grows.

Around other animals, Poppy shines. She plays respectfully with dogs, shows lovely manners, and is wonderfully gentle with cats—she mostly keeps to herself or offers a polite sniff. Toys are still a mystery to her, but she’s happy to share anything she’s given.

What Poppy wants most is a calm, loving home where she can feel safe. She doesn’t need anything fancy—just someone who will guide her kindly, celebrate her small victories, and let her discover the joy of being a cherished companion. Her past may have been uncertain, but her future is full of promise.

Poppy is ready for her second chance. She’s tender, resilient, and so deserving of a family who sees the sweetness she carries in her whole little being.
