Poppy's Story

Will you be my Valentine? Meet Poppy an approximately 11 week old Staffy/ lab and "your guess is as good as mine" mix. Poppy is around 16 pounds and is expected to be around 50 pounds when fully grown. She is currently being fostered in a home with several other dogs and cats. She loves to play and plays well with the medium and large dogs. Her play style is a little more rambunctious than our little dogs prefer. She is very curious about the cats and likes to play with them as well. Our cats will let her know when they have had enough of her antics. She is currently doing well with her crate training. She stays in the crate during the day and is not having accidents for about 4 hours. She is sleeping in the crate at night and typically needs to be let out 1 time to avoid any morning surprises. When she is in the house she is not yet signaling her need to go outside, however when you take her out she has been very good about going potty! She will need patience and consistency to continue her house training. She is doing very well on her sit and come command, and is treat motivated.

She is ready for more one on one training and learning to walk on a leash. This girl is very sweet and affectionate. She craves love and attention. Despite the fact that she’s going to be a little big for a lap dog, she is quite content curling up next to you to take a nap! She was recently spayed and microchipped and is up to date on her vaccines. Now all she needs is a family to call her own. So if you are looking for a fur-ever Valentine, Poppy is available and waiting!

To meet Poppy, please head to www.pettalesrescue.com and fill out an application today!

Poppy's minimum adoption donation is $340 payable via Venmo, PayPal ($10 fee added), or Cash.
