Poppy's Story

Poppy is a female small dog mix breed. She resembles a chihuahua or very small terrier. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and up-to-date on heartworm treatment. Her birthday is December 4, 2023. She is currently 4 months old.

Her foster mom writes:

She is a very active little girl (about 5lbs) and loves any play that involves running, chasing and rolling around. She will play-bite a lot (which is common in the small breeds like hers) but understands no and no bite. When worn out she loves to fall asleep next to you on her back so you can rub her belly.

I have 4 dogsall much larger than Poppyand she wants to chase and play rough and tumble with them. I tend to keep my dogs (all over 10 years old) away from her and her brother (Aster) just to make sure no one is too upset.

Poppy shouldnt go to a home with small children but would probably love a home with another dog that is patient with her young puppy antics. She will need lots of toys and chew toys too.

She has seen cats and is very interested in them but I have not let her near them because my cats will swat at new dogs.

If you are interested in adopting Poppy please apply on our website www.coaldr.org.
