Poppy's Story

Meet Poppy who came to Canine Collective all the way from the Bahamas. We call her a mixed breed but she is what is known as a 'Potcake", a breed very common in the Bahamas. These resourceful, intelligent, and loyal dogs are known for their short, smooth coats, cocked ears, and sturdy build, often resembling a Labrador mix. While their exact genetic makeup varies, they are a hardy landrace that has adapted to island life. Welcome to Ohio!
Poppy is 11 months old and 43 lbs and is spayed. She loves rawhides and loves kids! She keeps her crate very clean and walks pretty well on the leash but could use some more training. Poppy is an enthusiastic playmate with a same size dog but may be too enthusiastic for small dogs. She is a bit shy when you first meet her but will warm up with patience and soft words.

If interested in Poppy, apply at www.caninecollective.org.
