Poppy's Story
**HAS BEGUN HEARTWORM TREATMENT

** CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE: IF INTERESTED PLEASE FILL OUT PRE-ADOPTION APPLICATION SO A MEET AND GREET CAN BE SCHEDULED!
Poppy — 5-Year-Old, 20 lb Miniature Pinscher Mix

Poppy is a bright, confident little lady who likes to run the show — and honestly, she does it with charm. She has a “queen bee” personality and enjoys being the one who sets the pace, but she’s also affectionate, funny, and full of Min Pin spirit.

She is currently in a foster home with both dogs and cats, and her foster reports she’s doing very well. Poppy seems to be housebroken, has a solid potty routine, and enjoys the comfort and predictability of a home environment.

Poppy is Heartworm Positive and has already started treatment. Because of this, she must have limited activity — no zoomies, no long walks, and no strenuous play. Short leash walks and quiet companionship are perfect for her while she heals. She came to us with another dog who has since been adopted, and now it’s her turn to find a soft place to land.

Vetting

Poppy is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has been started on monthly preventatives. She has begun her Heartworm treatment, and adopters will need to follow the continued treatment plan as directed.

Apply to adopt Poppy:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
