Poppi is a 3 year old maltese mix weighing about 12 pounds. She came to her current foster home after being found as a stray on one of the coldest days this winter, wandering around on her own. After waiting out her stray hold with no one coming forward, she was taken in by the person who found her, with the hope of helping her find her forever home. Poppi is a super playful, happy girl with a big personality and would do best in a more active home that enjoys spending time playing and keeping her engaged. She especially loves squeaky toys and would be over the moon to have another playful dog in the home to wrestle and run around with. She is also great with cats and very respectful of their space. Poppi is fully potty trained and will ask to go outside when she needs to go, but has also adjusted really well to a schedule. She walks well on a leash and absolutely loves car rides. She loves her toys and tends to destroy them (stuffing and squeakers beware), so heavy-duty toys are recommended, but she has not shown any interest in chewing things she shouldn’t. She prefers being close to her people and is still learning that alone time in the crate is okay. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. <br/><br/>Current Adoption Fees Are:<br/>$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old<br/>$375+tax for ages 4-7<br/>$275+tax for ages 8 and up<br/>Bonded pairs vary<br/><br/>The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements.
