Name: Popcorn Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of January 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 25lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Special Adoption Considerations: In certain home settings -- where the environment might be loud or more intense -- Popcorn would do better with another dog in the home to give him confidence. Popcorn is Looking For: His forever home! This sweetie is eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved. In exchange he promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's storing up, and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Popcorn the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: This snuggly sweetheart is full of love and enthusiasm! He adores nightly cuddles, gets excited for daily walks, and is happiest right by your side. He may be a bit shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’s all in. He’s learning the ropes of playtime, crate comfort, and house manners, walks beautifully on leash, and sleeps soundly.He’s also wonderfully “pickâ€‘upâ€‘able” — he melts right into your arms and loves being held close. He’s very much a shadow dog who feels most secure when his person is nearby, so he’d do best with someone who enjoys having a constant little companion. With that closeness and reassurance, he’ll continue blossoming into the confident, playful pup he’s meant to be. Heartworm information: Popcorn is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Popcorn has completed this activity restriction period. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
