Pop's Story

Pop Up Promo! ACC is over capacity, so I'm currently living in a pop up crate. My adoption fee is waived, and my adoption comes with a $50 Chewy gift card.

Meet Pop!At 10 years old, Pop is ready to trade shelter life for a cozy place to call home. This gentle senior may be a little reserved at first, but once he feels comfortable, he approaches his people readily, enjoys treats, and accepts affection with his soft, easygoing nature. Pop is hoping his next chapter is a quiet one filled with comfort, companionship, and plenty of love.

My Ideal HomePop would do best in a calm, quiet home where he can take things at his own pace while he settles in. He enjoys exploring at a leisurely pace and would appreciate daily walks, gentle enrichment, long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and plenty of cozy time with his people. Give this sweet senior a little time to decompress, and he'll have the space he needs to show you who he is.

Good with Other Pets?Pop's history with other dogs is unknown since he came to us as a stray. During a recent introduction, he showed some interest but also displayed several signs of discomfort, and seeked the security of his handler. For now, Pop would be happiest skipping the dog park, with any introductions handled slowly, thoughtfully, and with plenty of positive reinforcement.

Good with Kids?Pop's history with children is unknown. Because he can be a little unsure in new situations, his new family should give him time to settle in and make sure all interactions are calm, gentle, and respectful of his space.

Things to KnowPop walks nicely on leash without pulling and has a neutral, easygoing response to everyday handling. He can be a little low-bodied and cautious in the busy care center, so he should never be rushed into approaching something or someone that makes him uncomfortable. At his own pace, Pop is a sweet, treat-loving companion who is ready to slow things down and enjoy the good life. At 10 years young, he's got plenty of love left to give, and he's ready for his happily ever after.

My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Pop is a very sweet, smart, gentle dog who may need a little time and patience as he adjusts to a new home and family. Once he feels secure, we think he'll blossom into a loving, loyal companion. He has the gentle nature and affectionate spirit people hope to find in a dog, along with a surprising amount of energy for his age. Pop deserves a comfortable home where he can feel safe, enjoy his walks, accept all the pets he wants, and share his big heart with someone lucky enough to adopt him.
Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 50.4lbs Age: 10yrs 0mths 3wks
