Pongo's Story

Pongo is a Shepherd Collie Mix who was pulled from Moreno Valley Animal Shelter and was there since the beginning of July.<br/><br/>From Pongo's foster: "<br/>I had been visiting him at the shelter for almost 2 months... and no interest.. I watched him get better from a virus and pull through and still no one. He was always so well behaved. Would sit when I asked. Was loyal on the first day I met him just chill and would do his business and come back to you and lay down below you. He’s such a calm dog for being at such a loud shelter. Not reactive to people nor dogs. Walks well on the leash. Can you ask for more of a perfect dog??? He was scared of the stairs when he came home but conquered it like a champ on his first night! Pongo, you’re such a great dog! You make me feel like I’m going to foster fail with you...

Grandma's Barn Rescue and Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
For our adult dogs, we like to start with a "dating" period. After a couple of dates or more, we move to a sleepover and then gradually transition to a full-time relationship. We require a home check, references, ID, application, and contract for adoption. Our fees are different for current fosters who want to adopt versus outside adopters. They have already invested so much.
