Meet Poncho
Meet Poncho!
This little guy is full of life and energy. Our rescue recently pulled him from an NC shelter on his last day before euthanasia. Poncho is currently in foster care learning house manners and how to be a great family member.
Poncho is approximately 3 yrs old and 50 lbs. He is current on vaccinations, neutered and heartworm negative. He is quiet in the house and house-trained.
He loves food and treats and is not a picky eater.
Poncho is always happy and loves to be around people. We would consider him medium energy (he is not hyper in the house or yard). Poncho walks great on a leash. He doesn't react to others walking by except to stop in his tracks or he may pull a little when another dog goes by, but he does not bark or lunge. At the shelter, he was dog tested and was good with other dogs, but he was overzealous which can be offensive to other dogs.
In the house, he is curious and will roam around, but doesn't chew things - he will play with his own toys. He will need a crate when not at home only to make sure he doesn't get into anything (he does counter surf). Poncho is fully crate trained and in the crate for 4-5 hours while the foster is at work. He only barks on rare occasions, is typically very quiet.
We recommend an experienced dog owner that can set the standard and routine for Poncho.
We recommend a family with no small children only due to his size. Poncho is very smart loves being the center of attention.
