Polly's Story

Polly is an adorable little pocket pittie, weighing only 32 lbs at approximately 18 months old. She came from a breeder and was brought into our local animal shelter after being attacked by another dog while running loose. Not only did she have an injured ear, but while being spayed a large mass was discovered in her little stomach, consisting of rocks, sticks, and basically trash. The mass was successfully removed and she came out of surgery happily trotting around and eager to play.

Polly feels wonderful now and her ear is healing. She will require a fenced yard so she never has to be on her own again foraging for food to survive. She would love a family that can spend a lot of time with her....she loves to snuggle and give kisses. Due to her bad experiences with other dogs, she might be happiest as an only dog.

If you are interested in Polly, the first step is to complete an adoption application via our website, www.cofas.org (click on Adoption Information, Available Dogs, Dog Adoption Application). All of our adoptable animals are in foster homes. A meeting can be arranged for approved applicants. Once we have reviewed your application we will get back to you as soon as possible. We reserve the right to decline an application if the home is not a good fit for the pet’s unique needs.
