Polly's Story

Polly and Bruce were found in the road near the Sanger/Bolivar border. A driver mistook Polly for a small deer. Both dogs were emancipated. Both dogs appear to be young, under 2 years old. Very sweet and seems to do well with other dogs.

Polly (aka Polly Pocket) is doing well with her current foster working on basic commands and her brother Bruce and her foster parents other dog.

Complete: dhhpv, deworming, microchip chip check (none), heartworm preventative

Pending: spay/neuter, microchip insertion, heartworm test, rabies

Our process:

We are not a “first come first served” shelter. Our process may be a little longer but it's designed to make sure animals are going to homes that meet their needs. You may have a great home and be lovely people, but sometimes a dog just isn't suited for your circumstance. For example, one dog may need a six foot privacy fence due to climbing behaviors while another may be fine with 4 ft chain link. Another dog may need a backyard while another would do fine in an apartment setting. We know our animals pretty well and we don't want you or your new addition to be forced into something that's not ideal for everyone.

Schedule a visit with the dog by going to www.copilotanimalrescue.org
Feel free to reach out to us by email with additional questions: copilotanimalrescue@gmail.com
Fill out an adoption application (you can do this before or after you meet the dog). Message us once you complete the app so we can start working on your references.
Let your vet know (if you have current animals) that we will be calling. They frequently need your permission to give us any info.
Home visit and adoption trial. If all lights are green, we will do a home visit followed by an adoption trial of one week to make sure that everyone is comfortable with the new addition.
Contracts are signed prior to the adoption trial.
