Polly's Story

Polly / F / 1Y / 40lbs / Lab mix / Fostered in Toronto

Polly is a true velcro dog who believes the best place in the world is snuggled up right next to her favourite humans. This affectionate pup is equal parts cuddly couch potato and energetic explorer, always ready for whatever adventure (or nap) comes next. She always wants to be involved in whatever you are doing.

With her adorable white paws and heart of gold, Polly makes instant friends wherever she goes. She's smart as a whip and eager to please, picking up new commands quickly and truly trying her best to make you proud. Her enthusiasm for learning is matched only by her love of treats! Polly is an incredibly sweet, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be part of your family.

Polly is reactive to dogs on leash, particularly larger ones who get too close. With patience and positive reinforcement, she's improving every day. She's currently mastering "stay" and "down," and already knows "sit," "paw," and "come." This smart girl responds beautifully to training and genuinely wants to learn.

House Manners: Crate and potty trained. Comfortable being left alone in her crate for a couple of hours without separation anxiety. Takes 4 potty breaks daily and is becoming a leash-walking pro. She is medium energy and enjoys two long walks a day.

When meeting new people, Polly might give out one bark but then will quickly warm up. She is good with kids 8+, and good with other dogs. She is learning polite manners when greeting new dogs on leash. She will chase cats.

Polly would flourish in a home with a fenced in yard in a quiet neighborhood. She is looking for patient and committed adopters who will continue to work on training with her, and will provide her with the physical and mental stimulation she requires to be her best self! Oh, and will give her lots of cuddles!

If you are interested in adopting Polly, please complete an adoption application on our website.
