Polly's Story

Polly is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

Meet Polly! The princess of playtime! In true Polly Pocket fashion, she’s always ready for the next mini adventure, whether that’s patrolling the backyard for squirrels or zipping after a bouncing ball like it’s the most important mission of the day. She’s rocking her house-training lessons and proudly does her business right away when taken outside—talk about superstar status! Polly loves her cozy crate (her “dreamhouse suite,” of course) and settles in like a pro when left alone.

Thought to be about 18 months old, this cuddle queen thrives on attention and gives affection like it’s her full-time job. If you’re sitting, she’s snuggling. If you’re snacking, she’s supervising. Polly is incredibly food-motivated—she’ll sit on cue and is polishing up her “come” command, especially if treats are involved (which she eats at lightning speed, by the way!). She enjoys toys of all kinds, but her absolute favorite is her plush squeaky hamburger—because every stylish girl needs an iconic accessory. Just make sure she has a toy nearby; otherwise, a pillow or slipper might accidentally become her next “DIY project.”

Confident and curious, Polly is interested in dogs her own size and may try to snag the spotlight—or the first treat—if given the chance. She’s great with older kids and teens, loves lounging on the couch or in her bed, and enjoys long walks where she can check out the neighborhood action. She might pull a little to investigate squirrels or passing pups, but she redirects well and wants to please. Sensitive to tone but not fearful, Polly is learning the ropes of polite living while keeping her playful, sparkly personality shining bright. With her energy, affection, and zest for life, Polly is ready to snap into her forever home and make it a whole lot more fabulous!

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
