Poki's Story

Poki is about 3 years old and came in as an owner surrender.

Poki is housebroken but will also use peed pads. He does not like other dogs, cats or kids but is generally pretty calm and likes quiet people. Loud noises and people make him nervous. He would do best in a calm home as he has had three previous homes already and is very confused as what is expected of him.
So far in the shelter he has been a little timid at first but warms up quickly to people. He really likes his food and toys but does not like to share.
Poki is considered a low energy dog.

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
