Pokey's Story

Meet Pokey, a curly-headed guy with a zest for life and an enthusiasm for pretty much everything!

Pokey is affectionate, outgoing, and always ready for whatever fun might be happening next. He approaches life with his whole heart and has an excitable spirit that's hard not to love.

When it comes to other dogs, Pokey hasn't quite figured out the social rulebook yet. He has the enthusiasm part down...the etiquette is still a work in progress. We'd be happy to arrange a meet and greet with any potential dog siblings to see how everyone gets along.

More than anything, Pokey is ready for a home. He genuinely cannot wait to have people of his very own, and we have a feeling he'll throw himself into being someone's dog with the same enthusiasm he brings to everything else.

Interested in adopting? We want to make it easy and fun to bring home a new best friend! When you choose an animal you’d like to make part of your family, please fill out an adoption application online at www.foothillshumanesociety.org/adopt Once you do this, our friendly adoption coordinator will spend time reviewing your application to ensure the pet you’ve chosen will be a great fit with your home and lifestyle. Then, we will contact you to schedule an appointment to come meet the animal. Your new pet’s adoption fee will be based primarily on age and species. Our adoption fees are also much less than those at other shelters, even though they are fully vetted, trained and ready to go home. Our adoptions fees are as follows: Dogs age 6 months and older are $80 Puppies under 6 months are $250-$450 Cats age 6 months and older are $30 Kittens under 6 months are $50 (second one FREE) We often hold special promotions when these fees are lowered, waived or adopters ‘name their own fee’ for adoptions. Your adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter surgery, testing, vaccinations, and microchipping. Your new pet has received all the love, attention, medications, and veterinary care they need to join their new family!
