Pocus's Story

Meet Pocus!

Prepare to be enchanted—Pocus is pure everyday magic.
This little wizard can be cautious in new environments, but once he feels safe, his playful, bubbly personality shines through. He loves collecting “treasures” from the toy box, chasing leaves and joining the resident dogs on joyful quests around the yard.

Pocus gets along well with the house cat and even knows how to respectfully coexist with the big, grumpy dog of the home. He can sometimes be a bit reactive around new dogs, but he’s been attending doggie daycare to build confidence and he’s becoming more comfortable every day. Thank you Wooftopia! He’s also becoming more relaxed meeting new humans, though the tiny ones are still a bit spooky. With slow introductions and reassurance, he’s learning that people of all sizes can be friends.

Pocus is fully housetrained and kennel trained—he even puts himself to bed when it’s naptime. At night he sleeps straight through without a single peep. He’s excellent on a leash, loves his walks, and enjoys exploring at his own steady pace.

A bright young apprentice, Pocus knows sit, shake a paw, down, and stay. He’s very smart, food-motivated, and an absolute wizard at solving puzzle games—he’ll happily show off his problem-solving skills.

With a little patience and a lot of love, Pocus will become the brightest bit of magic in your everyday life.

Born: July 29th, 2025
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Gender: Male
Size: Expected to be Med-Large
Activity Level: Puppy
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes
Adoption Fee: Special $250 Adoption Fee (reg $395)

If you are interested in meeting Pocus, applications can be found here:

http://mgpr.weebly.com/dog-adoption-application.html

You can also visit us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/manitobagreatpyreneesrescue

Included in my adoption fees, Manitoba Great Pyrenees Rescue has taken care of the following:
Routine health check
Spaying/Neutering
Tattoo
Microchip
Deworming
Parvo/Distemper Vaccines
Rabies Vaccine
Heartworm/Lyme disease test when applicable

Manitoba Great Pyrenees Rescue's Adoption Policy
The adoption process starts with an application form to find out more information about your family to ensure the best fit for the dog. Applications can be found at http://mgpr.weebly.com/ Second step is to have reference checks and vet checks. We want to ensure all dogs go to responsible loving homes. Thirdly, is the meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting. We encourage all members of your family to be in attendance at this visit as the dog will be an integral part of all of their lives. The final step of the adoption process is a home visit from one of our team members. The home visit allows us to see the environment in which the dog will be living as well as to offer any tips and advice to making your home dog friendly. Then your new family member will come home to shower your family with unconditional love.
