Pocket's Story

Pocket came in as a stray alongside Polly and has been a sweetheart since day one. She's full of happy, bouncy energy and is always excited to meet new people. Pocket walks okay on a leash and does well being crated during kennel cleanings. She hasn't been officially tested with other dogs, but she hasn't shown any negative reactions so far. She has no love for cats.<br/>Pocket loves to jump up for attention, so a family ready to help her learn some manners would be perfect. <br/>She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and currently on prevention-ready to head home!

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy

When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.

The mission of the Erath County Humane Society is to care for unwanted and lost animals, reunite lost animals with their owners and find homes for adoptable pets. We work closely with our community to decrease pet overpopulation and to provide a safe place for animals as they await their permanent homes.
