Pluto's Story

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://forms.gle/VXVLBHxTJpfas9Ut5

If you decide to take Pluto home, you never have to pick up a fly swatter ever again, this boy is a champion when it comes to catching bugs mid-air! This goofy guy is also known for picking up his leash and bringing it to you so that you know he wants to go for a walk!

Pluto was with his previous owners since he was a puppy but once they had a baby, his high energy and herding instincts were not just misunderstood, but they were punished with unnecessary physical correction. As a result, Pluto can be head shy and becomes nervous, especially if someone he isn’t comfortable with grabs him by the collar or raises their hand too quickly. We have noticed certain things make Pluto panic a bit, but when he is with someone he trusts, he becomes confident and his curiosity takes over.

Pluto is a lovable, high-energy dog who would do best in an adult-only home or one with older children since he is known for jumping out of excitement and hasn’t mastered the art of being polite just yet. Pluto is known for gently putting his mouth on you when he is excited but can be redirected by giving him a toy- it doesn't help that his mouth is always open since he loves to smile.

He would be most successful with someone familiar with herding breeds who can give him the structure, enrichment, and compassion he needs to grow into his best self. Despite his rough start, Pluto wants to connect and be loved. Once he knows you're a safe person, you'll see the loyal, loving dog he's meant to be. He’s sweet, doofy, and wants to explore even though loud noises, trucks, and unfamiliar situations can still make him uneasy. Pluto wants to be friends with most of the dogs and cats he sees, if anything, he gets a little too excited and doesn’t know what to do with himself. A well-matched canine companion in his forever home may be good for his energy and his confidence. Pluto really has so much love to give...he just needs the right person to give it to.
