Pluto is a silly and friendly 1 year old, 36 pound Schnoodle. His breed is of course just a guess, as we do not DNA test rescue dogs, but the Houston vets believe him to be a Schnauzer / Poodle mix. He is a bit on the skinnier side, and should probably be around 40 lbs.<br/><br/>This sweet guy ended up in a scary shelter in Texas after being found as a stray, but now has arrived to Colorado for a fresh start.<br/><br/>Pluto is super friendly with both people and other dogs, and he thrives on attention and playtime. <br/><br/>From Pluto's foster:<br/>* * * *<br/>"Pluto is the sweetest, most affectionate guy! He is a big goofball and a big player. We have 2 young, medium sized dogs who Pluto plays very well with and they play all day long! <br/><br/>Pluto has a wonderful personality and loves being close to his people. He is a total cuddle bug and thrives on attention and cuddles us in bed at night. <br/>He gets along great with new people and other dogs, and while he can get a bit excited when first meeting new pups, it’s all friendly excitement. He doesn’t bark at the doorbell and often runs to his foster parent for reassurance when other dogs bark, showing how much he trusts and bonds with his humans.<br/><br/>Pluto is playful, active, and full of joy. He loves toys, balls, and playing fetch, and he enjoys running around the backyard just as much as curling up for a snuggle afterward. He walks beautifully on leash and is VERY smart, already knowing his name and “sit.” While he likely didn’t get much training in his previous life, he is eager to learn and would do wonderfully with someone who enjoys helping a dog build skills. He is very food motivated and smart, so training him is easy!<br/><br/>He is young and mouthy!! He doesn't do it too hard, he just does it like a puppy and will try to gnaw on your arm when he gets playful. He will grow out of this as he gets older, but just something to note!<br/><br/>At night, Pluto prefers to cuddle in bed. Pluto is learning to be comfortable in his kennel when we leave the house. He may bark a bit when first crated, but he always settles down and goes to sleep. <br/><br/>He is doing well with potty training during the day and goes outside when given access, though at night he sometimes still uses pee pads in his kennel. <br/><br/>Pluto would be happiest in a home where someone is around often. He really likes being around his people! He would also love a home with another big, playful dog."<br/>* * * *<br/><br/>Since Pluto is so young, he is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. With positive reinforcement training, he has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. He’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen his bond with his humans and build him confidence.<br/><br/>Pluto is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered.<br/><br/>Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.<br/><br/>Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.<br/><br/>Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup.
