PJ's Story
PJ has blossomed in his foster home! This sweet boy has gone from a shy, skinny introvert to a confident, happy member of the household. With proper nutrition, he is filling out beautifully and looking healthier every day.

We think PJ may have been a bit of a couch potato in his previous life, but he is loving his new routine of exercise and stairs. His muscle tone is improving, his joints are loosening up, and he is feeling good! Long walks on his leash bring him a lot of joy. Chair, sofa and bed are his favorite places.

PJ gets along wonderfully with his foster family's dogs and pretty much ignores the cat. He met lots of people at an outing this past weekend and did not consider a single one a stranger, tail wags for everyone!

He is crate trained and now sees it as a safe, cozy place, though he would not turn down the chance to sneak into bed if the opportunity presents itself. He is housebroken and will make it known when he needs to go out. He sleeps through the night and can hold it for a few hours when left alone.

Although it seems he did not receive much training in the past, PJ is incredibly smart and picks up on body language and hand signals quickly. He is a very observant and eager learner.

For a senior guy, PJ is in great shape! Aside from some thick toenails and a few warts and skin tags, he has a sleek, shiny coat and a stunning mismatched eye combo; one brown, one striking blue.

PJ is gentle, food-motivated, a champion snuggler, and an all-around sweetheart who deserves a comfy home to enjoy his golden years. Whoever adopts him is going to be very lucky.

PJ is 13 years old and weighs 65 pounds. He can be an adoption or a permanent foster because of age.

Location: Foster home

The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.
helpingstrays.org
