Pixie's Story

Pixie's Bio: Pixie is a very sweet, young girl. She’s about a year old and weighs about 16 pounds. Our best guess on breed is Chihuahua mixed with a miniature greyhound. She does have longer legs and a skinny body along with her really adorable pointy ears and Chihuahua face. She is good with all animals as she comes from a hoarding situation in East Texas. Unfortunately, being in that situation, she had little to no human contact and, therefore, is very nervous still around new people. Once she gets to know you, though, she is your best friend. She wants to sleep in the bed next to you as close as possible and cuddle. She’s started to play and show her real personality. Whoever adopts Miss Pixie is going to need to do some meet and greets with her so she can get used to her new people and her new environment. She still gets pretty nervous going out in public, but we’re working on her confidence every day.

Ideal home will probably be no young animals. Someone who is patient and willing to give her the time and love she needs to adjust to her new surroundings. We want someone who has a fenced-in backyard. She would probably adjust quicker with another friendly dog, but she could also be an only dog and get all your attention.
