Pitter 's Story
🐾 Pitter ~5 month old Schnauzer mix, ~16 lbs, quirky, clever, and waiting for his people 🐾

👉 Please SHARE to help Pitter find the right home!

Pitter is a beautiful young boy who’s been with us about three weeks, and he’s already shown what a special soul he is. He’s playful, smart, and deeply connected to his person once he feels safe. He is a sensitive boy too. You may remember he and his sister (adopted) sat languishing in a breeder kennel as they hoped to still sell even with umbilical hernias. Finally surrendered but they missed key dog and human time so catching up.

He is smart. He is hand shy for overhead pets, knows when you’re taking your other hand around to pet him or pick him up. He and foster do this dance. Thankfully he loves treats so she can usually get him if in the yard that way.

The good stuff (and there’s a lot):
• House-trained with zero accidents
• Loves 4–5 potty/play breaks a day
• Improving on leash walking (still a bit unsure, but trying!)
• Fetch champion in a fenced yard – he lives to run and play
•his foster said this: He’s a sensitive guy. Sometimes I forget and make a different noise or movement and he’s so in tune. He’d be fun to train
• Very tuned in to his person and stays close. aka trip hazard
• Curious, playful, and toy-obsessed (balls, stuffies, Kongs… yes please!) he may be a bit much for young children
• Once in your arms or lap, he melts for hugs and squeezes
• Extremely food/treat motivated – training dream!

Pitter’s quirks (we all have them):
Pitter can be shy with new people and may crouch if you bend to pick him up, but he’s never aggressive—just skittish and learning to trust. He bonded quickly with his foster and continues to build confidence every day.

He’s still working on dog-to-dog social skills and boundaries. He plays hard and can come on strong, which may not suit every dog. A calm dog who ignores his antics might work, but he could also thrive as an only dog where he can soak up all the attention. (Cats are unknown—he’d likely chase at first.)

He may jump or playfully tug to get your attention and will bark when alerted or when other dogs bark, but he settles quickly. With consistency, patience, and positive training (did we mention he LOVES treats?), this boy is going to shine.

🐶 Best match:
• Patient, dog-savvy home
• a fenced yard
• Someone who enjoys training and playtime
• Willing to help him continue building confidence and manners

Pitter is precious, playful, and full of potential. He just needs the right home to help him become his best self. 💙

👉 Learn more about adoption & apply to adopt:
www.recycledbestfriends.org

📣 Please SHARE Pitter’s story—his perfect match might be just one share away! 🐾

Knoxville, TN
