Pippin's Story

Meet Pippin! This little guy weighs in just shy of 2 lbs at 3 -4 months old. He was surrendered by a breeder due to his extra small stature. Once he arrived in our care we had him evaluated by one of our veterinarians who determined he has hydrocephalus. Fortunately, Pippin does not show any of the common symptoms of this condition. He takes medication 2 times a day to help decrease the build up of fluid in his brain. He functions as any "normal" puppy.

He is a playful, happy guy, who loves to sit on a lap, play with toys, or engage with his foster fur-siblings.

Due to his size we think he needs a less busy home to be safe. He is at risk of being stepped on, as he loves his people and will follow them around the home. He is also too little to navigate stairs on his own.

We are looking for an adopter in the Rochester area. Someone who can do follow up appointments with his vet as needed. He will be neutered at 5 months of age.

ADOPTION FEE : $625
Please submit an application through our rescue, NOT a Petfinder inquiry
---------------------------------------
Apply to adopt here:
https://puppymillrescueteam.org/dog-adoption-application/

This dog is located in Greece NY. Puppy Mill Rescue Team 's Adoption Policy
ADOPTION POLICIES The Puppy Mill Rescue Team’s dogs are placed into adoptive homes within 60 miles of the foster home. We have foster homes in Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Macedonia, OH. When applying for a specific dog please check the profile to see where the dog is located. If you are not in this area and are looking to adopt, we recommend that you visit our Rescue Partners area or Petfinder.com to locate a rescue in your area. A legally binding Adoption Agreement must be signed at the time a dog is placed. The adoption donation varies and is included in the dog’s description on the website as well as in the Adoption Agreement. Adoption donations are not negotiable and payment must be made in full prior to or at the time of the placement of the dog. Please read prior to submission of an application for adoption. All potential homes must complete our adoption process which includes an application, meet and greet, home inspection and veterinary reference. Applicants must provide veterinary references if they have previously owned a pet and contact veterinary facilities to authorize release of their records to a PMRT representative upon request. Applicants who rent their homes must verify that they are permitted to have a dog and provide a landlord contact number on the adoption application. Landlords will be contacted in every case, no exception. The primary adopter must be at least 21 years old. We are solely committed to the dogs accepted into the rescue. We want to find them loving, permanent homes and go to great lengths to place the right dog into the right family. We reserve the right to decline any adoption based on what we feel is in the best interest of the dog.
