Pippa's Story

Meet Pippa: A Ray of Sunshine
8-10 years |14 lbs | Poodle Mix | Non-Shed | Long Beach CA

Pippa is a very sweet and mellow girl who gets along beautifully with other dogs. While she is not one for rough play, she is completely unbothered when other pups come up to say hi. Her absolute favorite activity? Doggy stroller rides! Pippa loves to catch the breeze and head to the Farmers Market or the dog beach in her ride. When she is not out exploring the world from her "chariot," you can find her napping in a warm ray of sunshine. Pippa is always fashionable in her adorable bows, she has them in every color of the rainbow! This resilient girl is looking for a quiet place to spend her golden years.

Pippa is a very special girl who proves that being blind and deaf is simply a different way of experiencing the world. Because she relies on her sense of touch and presence to feel secure, she does best when she can sense her people nearby. She is a true cuddle bug who loves to snuggle on the couch or rest in her dog bed right by your side. She does bark when left entirely alone in a separate room, as she just wants to know her family is close.

Pippa is both house trained and pee pad trained. Due to some arthritis in her back legs, she prefers life on a single level and goes for slow, short walks at her own pace. She may occasionally bump into things as she navigates, but she never lets it dampen her spirits—she just keeps right on going! She transitioned easily into her foster home and quickly mapped the new environment.

She would be an excellent match for a senior adopter or a calm household where someone is home most of the time. She has done well in her foster home with other calm dogs. Pippa has not been around cats but we think she would do fine with a dog-friendly cat.

Pippa is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She does take lifelong heart medication twice a day to keep her feeling her best. If you have a quiet home and a heart for seniors, Pippa is ready to fill your days with gentle affection and quiet joy.

Pippa is currently in Long Beach, CA and ready for her forever home. We are now accepting adoption applications for this very special girl bichonrescuebrigade.org/adopt/adoption-form
