Piper's Story
MEET PIPER!

Piper is a darling young girl we estimate to be around a year old, and she is truly pure joy wrapped up in fur. She’s got that irresistible puppy energy—bouncy, happy, and full of life—without the nippy or chaotic behaviors that sometimes come with it.

Her favorite place to be? Right in your arms. If given the chance, Piper will happily hop up for a cuddle and soak up every bit of love you’re willing to give.

This sweet girl has recently discovered her love for fetch, and it has quickly become her favorite game. The moment you have a tennis ball in hand, Piper locks in—she’ll sit perfectly still, eyes glued to you, just waiting for the throw. She brings the ball right back every time and has shown no signs of resource guarding, happily dropping it so the fun can keep going.

Piper looooooves toys, and they’ve quickly become an amazing tool for training. While she is food motivated, her love for toys is just as strong—especially anything with a squeaker! When Piper locks in on something she wants, her focus is incredible. She’ll match your movements step for step, completely tuned in, like one of those perfectly in-sync dancing dogs you see online. She has the size, drive, and focus to truly shine with continued training—and in the right hands, we think her potential is through the roof.

Piper would thrive in a home that enjoys interactive play and continuing to build on her skills. While we haven’t formally tested her with other dogs, we believe with proper introductions she could do well with a canine companion. However, Piper has previously lived with cats and did not thrive, so a cat-free home is recommended.

If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, toy-loving sweetheart who could be your next adventure buddy and your next social media star, Piper may just be your perfect match. Come meet her—just be prepared to fall in love fast.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you would like to meet Piper, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she will receive.

**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth.
Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
