Piper's Story

Just look at those ears! Meet Piper, a handsome Shepherd born around 7/6/22. Piper is a soft and snuggly boy who is ready to find a forever family to love. He’s a loyal, sensitive soul who thrives on affection and calm companionship.

Originally from Afghanistan, Piper is still adjusting to the new sights and sounds of life here. He’s eager to please and loves to learn—especially when treats are involved. He’s alert with a big bark, but he’s learning that his people will protect him, and he doesn’t need to be on high alert all the time.

Piper can be mouthy when startled or excited, so he would do best in a home without young children—kids over 10 and up would be a better fit. He prefers the company of very submissive dogs or no dogs at all, as more dominant or high-energy dogs can overwhelm him.

He’s enjoyed playing with his calm foster sister and tends to be submissive himself, but he also enjoys his solo time just relaxing or soaking up love from his humans. Piper would be thrilled to sleep stretched out on a bed or couch, but he’s also content in his crate. He does great being left loose when home alone and hasn’t had any issues.

Piper loves walks, belly rubs, and being brushed or getting a nail trim. His one big dislike? Car rides—he lets you know with instant drooling. But if it means joining you on an adventure, he’s game!

Are you ready to welcome this sweet, sensitive boy into your life? Because he’s ready for you.
