Pip's Story

Pip / Female / approx 4 months / approx 23 lbs / Mixed Breed (will likely be large fully grown) / Good with Dogs / Good with Kids / Good with Cats / Local Surrender / Fostered in Toronto

Pip is the picture of a growing puppy. She's smart, playful, friendly, and loving in the way of all puppies—which is to say she'll lick your face until you squeal for mercy. She's growing fast, both mentally and physically, and she'd love to be your family companion.

She might be small now, but Pip is expected to grow into a large dog perfect for guarding the family. Patient socializing and training are an absolute must as she's still a learning pup. The good news is that Pip has proven herself to have a sharp and curious mind. She's already learned the basics of dog training, and she's quickly learning more (being highly food-motivated certainly helps).

Besides playing with anyone and everyone she meets, Pop loves to fetch, chew on her chew toys, and follow her humans around wherever they go. She loves going on long walks and is well-behaved on her leash, curious about the world but not to the point where she tugs aggressively at other dogs.

Potty training has gone very well for Pip, and she accepts sleeping in her crate for the full night and for short absences (she is still a puppy, after all). That said, she's at an age where trust and free-roaming the household are important for her development.

As a potentially large dog, Pip would benefit from a household with plenty of room. A large backyard or access to a nearby dog park would be ideal. She’s currently thriving with a foster that has an older dog and cat, so she’d be a great second pet for a puppy-patient family.

If you’re looking for a lifelong companion, Pip is your pup.

As a condition of the adoption contract, Pip’s new family will be required to:

Ensure she has an opportunity to go outside every 2-3 hours. If you work full-time, this means hiring a dog walker to come in 2x per day for a puppy visit
Attend and complete a basic obedience class at your own cost (proof required).
Provide plenty of socialization opportunities – both dog and human – it's important at this stage.
Spay within 6 mos of adoption. If done at our partner vet in Mississauga, the spay will be included in the adoption fee. If you choose to do it elsewhere, it will be done at your own cost. Proof of neuter is required to finalize the adoption.

If you’re interested in adopting Pip, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form

Pip’s adoption fee is $900.
