Pinerolo's Story

***Currently located in Seattle, WA***

Bonjour! I'm Pinerolo

I'm one of six pups from the Tour de France Litter — named after cycling cities! Don't let the French name fool you though — I'm 100% sweet Mexi-mutt, and I've got the charm to prove it.

I came into this world in a small village in Guerrero, Mexico, where my mom was loved but resources were limited. A kind family cared for us the best they could, but it was clear we needed help. Surfers for Strays stepped in to support all of us — providing food, vaccines, and care. They also made sure our mom was sterilized after raising us.

My five siblings have all been adopted already, and now it's just me waiting for my turn. I'd really love to find a family to call my own, too.

After some time at the shelter getting strong and socialized, I made the big journey to the U.S. and settled into a foster home with three other dogs of all sizes and ages. I've been doing so well here and learning so much every day. At first, I didn't quite understand how to share toys or treats — I mean, there were so many cool things and I just wanted them all! But with patience and practice, I've learned that sharing means more fun!

I live with a grumpy, old chihuahua who isn't the biggest fan of chaos — and I totally get that. I'm super gentle and respectful around him, and if I show my best side, he even lets me cuddle up right next to him. My bestie is Zoey, my foster sister and fellow Mexi-mutt. Our foster momma says we play like champs and are learning how to take healthy breaks and share the fun. I even got to meet a cat during a sleepover with one of my littermates — and the humans say I was curious but respectful, which I'm pretty proud of.

When it comes to humans, I've bonded so much with my foster momma for all the snuggles and with my foster dad when it comes to hiking. We are the best hiking buddies, and I have so much fun with him (he does too — he told me! ). I get to explore, smell new things, and spend quality time outdoors. With strangers, I just need a calm, slow intro — a few sniffs and I'm good to go!

I've been working on my basic training and manners in my foster home. I sleep well in my crate, ride nicely in the car , and walk well on leash. I'm a smart pup who thrives with calm leadership and clear expectations. My ideal home? I'd love it if my people were dog-savvy. A playful dog friend would be amazing, but I'd also be happy soaking up all the love myself. I'd do best with folks who enjoy outdoor adventures — but also love being a cuddlebug on the couch on a rainy day.

I've come a long way already, and I'm ready for the next chapter. I may have started life with very little, but I've got a whole lot of love to give now. Maybe you're the one I've been waiting for?

With tail wags and face licks,
Pinerolo

If you are interested in FOSTERING, click on the Foster Button and fill out the online Foster Application
If you are interested in ADOPTING, click on the Adopt Button and fill out the online Adoption Application
Check out our VOLUNTEER Opportunities here https://www.surfersforstrays.org/get-involved

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
