Meet Pina 🐾<br/><br/>Pina is one of the “81 Speedway Shepherd Girls,” named after she and another German Shepherd were found loose and surviving near 81 Speedway, located between Park City and Valley Center, KS, before being safely brought to safety.<br/><br/>Their names were inspired by the racing world — Pina (from Alpina) and Gema (from Gemballa) — strong names for two resilient girls.<br/><br/>Though they were found together, Pina and Gema are not littermates. Pina is slightly older (approximately 1.5 years old), and they will be placed individually based on their unique needs.<br/><br/>Pina is a thoughtful and observant young German Shepherd who is continuing to build confidence and learn about the world around her. She takes time to process new situations and is steadily gaining comfort with structure, routine, and guidance.<br/><br/>She is:<br/>✔ Gaining confidence on lead<br/>✔ Learning about home life and routine<br/>✔ Dog-friendly (has done well with larger male and similar-sized female dogs)<br/>✔ Continuing to build trust with people<br/><br/>Pina has shown that she does not need another dog in the home and is comfortable separating from Gema.
