Meet Piglet

This fluffy bundle of joy is Piglet. Just one look at that face and you can’t help but smile. She is a laid back 4-year-old Aussie mix weighing about 35 lbs. And as you may have guessed, she is a double merle – partially deaf and blind. But don’t make the mistake most people do in thinking she can’t be a normal dog. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

She has adjusted well in a foster home. At first, she was not a fan of their dogs but in a short amount of time, she found a best friend. Piglet is house trained, crate trained and even uses the doggy door. Basically, she finds her way around without issue.

Piglet has a very calm demeanor and does get a pep in her step when going outside for walks. And when someone is walking by or a neighbor’s dog is outside, she is the first one to know (not the seeing and hearing pack in the house). She takes her Aussie responsibilities very seriously. She even patrols the house during the day to ensure everything is good.

And if you think getting a picture of her is an easy task, think again! Once she hears the click of the picture being taken, before you know it you are being smothered in kisses. We’ll take it! She really is the sweetest girl that loves attention.

Piglet would do best in a calm, quieter home. She can be an only dog or with a more submissive dog to help show her the new lay of the land. She can be sassy when it comes to feeding time and does just fine being fed separately (no issues with people and her food).
