PICKLES's Story
LOOKING FOR CHIHUAHUA SIZE WITHOUT CHIHUAHUA STEREOTYPES?

Pickles is your man.

We were contacted by a nice lady who found Pickles, on a walk. He was actually laying on the side of a very busy street and had a little blood coming from his mouth. She rushed him to the shelter, where he was examined and no wounds found but they were full and could not take him. She tried for a week, to find his family but none ever surfaced so then she started contacting rescues.

I mean c'mon. Look at that cute little mug. Who could say no. The littles are like potato chips anyway. Small and you can never have just one.

We took Pickles to our vet and they too looked him over to check for injuries but none were found.

This is a neat little guy. No Yap. No Nip. No Attitude. No Snark. He is gentle and sweet and easy to have around.

Pickles is about 8-12 months old and weighs just under 7lbs. He loves to sleep on the bed with you at night but will crate during the day, if you have to be away, which is done in his foster home, for his safety, due to other dogs in the home. For TV time he will sleep on the top of the recliner you are sitting in or want to curl up under your arm. He has good recall, is a good traveler and will stay in the passenger seat or quietly in a crate, for traveling. He is a little intimidated by leash walks though he gets better and better, with each outting. He lives currently with other dogs but can be intimidated by them. He is not a super confident guy and any dog that likes to intimidate or dominate, will scare him so please, he should probably be an only dog, which we know he wouldn't mind or the friend to a very sweet, gentle and kind dog. He is great with cats. Kids in the home, should probably be older and know how to behave and respect animals. He is a fragile little guy and could be easily hurt if dropped, grabbed or poked.

Housebreaking is coming along well. He has never offered to mark indoors and still squats to potty outside, about half the time, but there have been a few poo messes, largely human error for getting distracted and not getting him out on his schedule.

Uncomplicated. Gentle. Quiet. Easy going and fun sized, little Pickles will be the best buddy to some very lucky, qualified applicant.

He has been neutered, with rear dew claws removed, is up to date on five way and rabies vaccinations, tested and treated for parasites and is microchipped.
