Pi's Story

Courtesy Post - Not at the shelter

Meet Pi — The Boy Who Waited 414 Days for His Second Chance
Pi’s story is one of resilience, loyalty, and hope. This 4½-year-old Bullmastiff–Pit Bull mix has known more hardship than most dogs ever will — but his heart remains as big and gentle as his smile.
Since the age of 3 weeks, Pi has spent his years on the streets, living alongside his previous owner who was experiencing homelessness. From sleeping on picnic tables to curling up inside port-a-potties, Pi never had a real home or a bed to call his own.
His owner was arrested after an altercation with police. Pi was taken to the shelter, where he spent 414 long days waiting. It was a confusing and lonely time for a dog who had suddenly lost his person and the stability he knew. No touch, no grass on his feet, nothing for 414 days.
When his owner was finally released, he still had no home of his own. Wanting a better life for his loyal companion — the only family who had stood by him for the past four years — he made the heartbreaking decision to surrender Pi, trusting me to find him the perfect home.
Now, it’s up to us to make sure Pi gets the happy ending he deserves.
Together, I know we can do it.
Now neutered, vaccinated against rabies and distemper, microchipped, and heartworm negative, Pi is ready to begin his new chapter. He’s a big, strong boy who weighs 72 lbs and full of love and loyalty. He’s social and has been around other dogs, cats, and kids. Because he was always by his owner’s side, Pi can get a little sad when left alone, but he quickly settles and relaxes once he knows he’s safe.
Pi walks okay on a leash, but he’s got the typical excitement when he spots a squirrel or chipmunk. He’ll need a strong handler who can help him stay focused and calm on walks. Although around children before, we are seeking a home with 12+ children.
This big-hearted boy deserves nothing less than the best — a patient, loving family who will show him what “home” truly means for the very first time.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s survived the storm and is ready to love with everything he’s got, Pi is your guy.

Being Fostered in Old Lyme, CT

Link to application: https://form.jotform.com/252803782761159
Questions?
