Phoenix 's Story
The name Phoenix embodies transformation, resilience and new life, and that’s exactly what this adorable girl represents. Phoenix was left tied to a tree at a park in Philadelphia before being brought to an overcrowded shelter where she found herself just hours away from being euthanized for space before we stepped in and rescued her.

Phoenix is about 3 years old and while you can see the rough life she’s lived through the scars on her face and the signs on her body from having puppies, you’d never know she had a difficult past when meeting this sweet happy girl. She wiggles and jumps with joy when meeting new people and loves to cuddle and she joyfully plays with every toy she sees. She absolutely loves toys and will carry one around, chase one in the yard, or simply snuggle up next to you with her favorite toy. She has a velvet soft black coat and is the perfect size (55lbs) for cuddles.

Phoenix doesn’t ask for much - just a family to love her and some toys to play with. She walks nicely on leash and rides calmly in the car making her an excellent companion. She is a super goofy girl and will proudly pick up the biggest stick she can find and try to take it home with her. She can coexist with other dogs, but she mostly pretends that they aren’t there and because of this we feel she would be happy as the only dog in your home, but if you have a neutral low key dog we could certainly do a meet and greet. Cats are a no for Phoenix - she becomes very fixated on them.

Phoenix does great with housebreaking as long as she’s on a consistent schedule, she is fine to hang out by herself for a few hours and will gladly nap or play with a toy, and she has not been destructive in her foster home. She is spayed, microchipped and utd on vaccines. She can get a little overexcited with toys and may accidentally catch your hand or arm, but she has shown no signs of resource guarding toys or food. She takes treats gently.

Phoenix is a resilient girl that has fully embraced her second chance at life - now she just needs a forever family to love her and in return you will get an affectionate, wiggly, and super sweet pup!

She is fostered in Hunterdon County NJ

http://www.coldnosewarmheart.org/dog-application.html
@cnwhnj @coldnosewarmheartnj
