Once found emaciated , tied to a tree, this sweet girl is rising from previous hardship. Despite what she has gone through, this shy sweet girl is learning that the world can be a kind place.

She can be nervous in new situations, but she settles quickly once she feels safe. She’s never shown aggression, and truly wants to trust. When meeting new dogs, her initial anxiety fades fast, and with slow introductions, she does great. She’d likely love a calm playmate to help build her confidence. She has previously lived in a foster home with two other dogs, but due to their advanced age and health issues they were unable to play together.

Phoenix is completely crate trained and finds comfort in her crate, often resting there with the door open. She’s fine being left alone for a few hours and loves having a routine. She enjoys exploring her fenced yard, but prefers to have someone outside with her for reassurance.

Leash walks are getting easier thanks to her love of treats, she’s very food motivated! Indoors, she’s still learning that hardwood floors and hallways are safe, but she’s making steady progress.

Phoenix may be timid, but she’s full of potential and heart. With patience and love, she’ll blossom into a devoted, loyal companion.
---
We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches.

Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $500 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.
