Phoenix's Story

Phoenix is a giant puppy disguised as a dog. He loves everyone-especially kids-so expect kisses, cuddles, and lots of enthusiasm. He's still figuring out his big teenage-boy body and often forgets he's not actually lap-sized.
He's learning his manners: he knows "sit," has great recall, and is working on loose-leash walking. He takes treats gently and is very food motivated-snacks are his love language.
Phoenix's top hobbies include tug (his favorite), short rounds of fetch, and trotting around with stuffed toys or rope. He also enjoys marrow bones, snuffle mats, and food puzzles.
He's a great traveler, hopping right into the car. He even walked a fashion-show runway and spent the after-party collecting belly rubs like a celebrity.
Phoenix does well with other dogs and would love a playmate with similar size and energy. A fenced yard is great, but regular leash walks work too-he'll happily flop down with a toy afterward. He's also meeting cats politely and shows no interest in chasing them.
Phoenix is ready for his forever home-and if you want a lovable goofball who brings joy (and the occasional giant cuddle), he might be your perfect match.

Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from trainers at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email dogs@henricohumane.org for more information.
