Phoebe 's Story
Meet Phoebe!

Phoebe is a beautiful 2 year old pittie mix who has been waiting far too long for her forever family. She’s right here in New Hampshire, hoping the right person will finally see the incredible soul she is. At around 55 pounds (though she’d be happiest a little leaner), Phoebe has a stunning brindle coat and a truly soft, old-soul personality.

Phoebe is a very shy girl, especially in new environments, but she is never aggressive — just gentle, cautious, and sensitive. It’s clear that life hasn’t always been kind to her, and because of that, she needs a calm, patient home that will move at her pace, help her build confidence, and surround her with love and reassurance. Women, in particular, seem to make Phoebe feel more comfortable and safe. She is such an easy dog that you can’t help but love.

Once Phoebe trusts you, her bond is deep and unwavering. She becomes an incredibly loyal, devoted companion who wants nothing more than to be close to her people. She’s the kind of dog who quietly chooses you as her person and stays right by your side.

Phoebe does wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and fits in easily without needing to be in charge. She’s also good with kids, though she would do best with older children, as too much noise and chaos can overwhelm her gentle nature. A cat-free home is best for Phoebe, as she does have some prey drive. With people and dogs, however, she is all heart.

She loves going on walks and hikes, taking in the world at her own thoughtful pace, sniffing everything along the way. And when the day winds down, Phoebe turns into a total cuddle bug, happiest curled up close with her people. She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and ready to settle beautifully into a peaceful home.

Phoebe is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and will go home with a health certificate. After being with us longer than any other dog, she deserves the chance to finally know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and home.

If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart, and the patience to let a shy girl blossom, Phoebe will reward you with a love that is rare and incredibly special.

Could you be the one she’s been waiting for?
Apply here:
https://www.livefreerescue.com/adoption-application
