Phineas's Story
Phineas is a beautiful blue pittie mix. He had a rough start to life, but we're here to make sure it is nothing but the best for him from now on. Phineas is recovering from severe neglect and is on a "re-feeding" protocol of several small meals a day. He is very treat and food motivated. Because of his history with food, he should be fed separately from other pets. He does get VERY excited for meals and treats and is working on being calmer while waiting for tasty treats.

Since he is still a puppy, Phineas is working on potty training. He gives great cues (goes towards the door), so if let out regularly, he does great. He walks wonderfully on a leash.

Phineas appears to have been kept in a crate that was too small, for too long. Thus, he is slowly learning that a crate is a safe space. He's currently learning that crate time doesn't have to be a bad thing and is learning to settle when left in a crate for short times. He does sleep well in his crate at night, with his crate being close to his foster parents so he knows he's not alone.

Phineas is a very smart little guy. He thrives on attention and is very cuddly. He's playful, loves the older dog in his foster home and takes cues/corrections well from her. He may be an older puppy, but he is just now learning how to "dog" and will be a wonderful pet for patient people who are willing to continue to support and love this special boy the way he deserves.
