Phil's Story

Good Samaritans took in a neglected dog, and then discovered she was pregnant. After they helped her raise the puppies and find them homes, they needed help with the last two. Pete has already been adopted, and now Phil is hoping to meet his new loving family soon!

Phil is a bit shy initially, and while he was with Pete, he let Pete seek out the human affection. Phil's the more independent of the two, and happy to do his own thing, but does warm up to attention. In their prior home, the puppies did exhibit some resource guarding of food and toys with each other, so we are looking for homes without children. He would be fine living with another dog, as long as adopters are willing to follow guidance to help reduce and eliminate the resource guarding. We do not know how Phil feels about cats.

A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Phil's $480.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Phil.
