Petie's Story

Heehoo, I'm Petie!

I'm a 30-pound bundle of love, about 2 years old, with the soul of a snuggler and the heart of a loyal sidekick. I'm told I have a little anxiety, but honestly? I've come a long way—and I'm proud of that! I don't have a single mean bone in my body... just a couple of nervous ones.

People? I love them all. Tall ones, small ones, the whole crowd. I'm also a fan of other dogs and even those mysterious creatures called cats. My favorite place in the whole world is curled up under the covers, sleeping on your legs. (I'm basically a heated blanket with ears.)

I'm house-trained, polite when home alone, and not the least bit destructive. I don't have separation anxiety (woohoo!), and I know important things like “sit,” “lay down,” and “wait.” Basically, I'm a polite little gentleman with a big, snuggly heart.

But hey, I've got a few quirks. I'm not a fan of car rides or chaotic places, and I'm a bit of an escape artist—so a secure leash or tie-out is the way to go. Honestly, I'd much rather stay inside with you where it's cozy and calm. I take one daily Prozac (fancy, huh?) to help me stay chill, and it really helps.

My foster family keeps telling me my perfect person is out there. I believe them. I'm waiting—tail wagging and heart wide open—for someone who sees the amazing, loving dog I already am, and wants to love me right back.

Could that be you?

Apply to adopt me at https://www.midwestk9rescue.org/adoption/ !

Midwest K9 Rescue's Adoption Policy
We have a thorough application that is completed by the applicant. This includes number and age of people in household, hours away from the home, other pets in the home, and yard type (enclosed, community, etc.) Once we receive this information, we do a vet reference check for existing pets which must be current and up to date on vaccines AND spayed/neutered. We complete a public background check, auditor check (or) do a landlord verification for pet policy confirmation and a phone screen with the applicant before a meet and greet is set up. If for any reason we are not comfortable with or feel that the applicant is not a suitable match for our pet, then we will not complete the adoption.
