Petey's Story

Petey loves the snow as much as the warm weather which is great for anyone who is a year-round walker. Petey is also one of our best walkers. With excellent leash walking skills, you will be delighted to find that Petey is right with you without tugging you everywhere. He is also getting a lot of new training with hand signals and eye contact as it is presumed he is deaf .

Sad to say, Petey has been at the shelter way too long and his latest introductions to strangers has been iffy. But the new training with tug toys and treats may be the path to meeting new people with calm and confidence. He is still a young boy, having arrived at just around a year old with all the energy and drive that pre-adult dogs exhibit.

Although he seems to be a good partner with some other playful dogs, Petey may be too much for small dogs. Petey is quick to show his interest in other dogs by hitting a play bow of lying down in hopes of a friendly meet-up.

You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.

Link to application: https://www.angelridgeanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Dog-Application.pdf
