Petey's Story

Breed: Mixed breed, best guess is a Chihuahua/Terrier mix

DOB: 10/01/2025 (best guess), approx 6 mths old

Weight: currently 6.5 lbs, should max out at 10 lbs or less

Likes: Playing with ALL the toys, running in the yard, attention from people

Crate trained/House broken: Petey has been introduced to the crate where he sleeps at night and during the day. He has done well with house breaking and his adopters should be prepared to continue to work with him.

Energy level: Typical terrier puppy- high! Fenced yard preferred

Medical notes: He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

Notes from foster: Petey current lives with kids, cats and has been around a larger dog and loved him. He can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but it doesn't take long for him to warm up. Petey's life before coming into foster care is unknown. We know he was abandoned after accidently escaping from a vehicle when his owners got out. He got scared and ran off. They decided they did not want spend time looking for him, so they left. He was on his own, loose for over a week before being caught. Despite all of this, he has adjusted to foster care and loves his foster family.

If you are interested in giving Petey the permanent, loving home that he deserves, please fill out an application at the link below to get the ball rolling on a meet and greet.

https://form.jotform.com/202046006590041

If this link doesn't open by clicking on it, just copy and paste it into a new browser.

Adopters must live within a 45 mile radius of Winston-Salem. The application will be processed by an adoption counselor. We will make contact with you to answer any questions you may have and review your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered, as the information you give us on your application is essential in determining the compatibility of the dog you have requested with your life-style.
