PETEY's Story

PETEY is a 2-3 year old Treeing Walker Coonie who has visited the pound on multiple occasions because he was allowed to roam the county by his previous owner. After being cited countless times in the last 13 months, this time, his never came to claim PETEY. And that's just fine with PETEY. PETEY is a wonderful boy who is sweet, loving and affectionate. He loves to run and play, and go for long walks. One thing you should know about PETEY is he's smart. Not just your average smart, but SMART. In fact, he's probably smarter than many people. So you need to be smarter because PETEY will compete with you. We have 8 foot fencing around his kennel (inside and out). He climbed right over it. So, we put up a tarp over his outside kennel thinking he wouldn't be able to climb over the inside one.. Guess what? So, we put a tarp up over that one too. That worked, but when he thinks we aren't watching him, we see him looking at that tarp trying to figure out how to get past it and as soon as he sees us looking at him, he quickly lays down with a look of pure innocence on his face. We have 8 foot fencing around the yard too, but that's topped with razor wire and he is smart enough to know not to attempt an escape. So, unless you have a kennel area outside with a roof, PETEY shouldn't be left outside unsupervised. We also have his baby mama at the pound who will be available next week after she's spayed. He gets along with female dogs and some male dogs. PETEY is housebroken, well mannered and he may require you to put on your thinking cap a time or two, he is well-worth it.

Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd.
