Peter's Story

Peter's story started in the most unexpected way-he was found on Easter while a DCHS volunteer was out hunting for eggs and actually came up to DCHS Foster, Hazel, to hang out! At first, he kept his distance, unsure of the world around him. But over the next several days several people earned his trust... with lots of leftovers.

Now? He loves being with people.

Peter is a sweet, affectionate boy who soaks up attention and happily leans in for pets. He's friendly with both dogs and cats, making him a great addition to a variety of homes. His loving nature really shines once he feels safe.

He's still learning a few things, like walking on a leash, which he's not quite comfortable with yet-but he's making progress and will thrive with a patient adopter who can continue to guide him.

Peter is the kind of dog who reminds you that trust takes time, but the reward is something truly special. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love, Peter might just be your perfect match.
