I chirp like a bird when I'm excited. I need work on the leash, but I really love everyone and I'm honestly just a huge softy when it comes down to it. I love all people and get along with all kinds of dogs. I'd love to just hang out with you at home, but would also love to tag along on your adventures and boring errands too!<br/><br/>If you're looking for a loyal companion who believes life is best spent by your side, Peter may just be your perfect match.<br/>Everyone who spends time with Peter seems to fall in love with him-and it's easy to see why. Beneath his handsome face is an incredibly affectionate, gentle soul whose greatest joy is simply being close to his people. Whether it's curling up beside you on the couch, resting his head in your lap, or showering you with kisses, Peter is happiest when he's sharing love with the people he trusts. If cuddling were an Olympic sport, he'd be bringing home the gold medal.<br/>Peter has done wonderfully in a home environment. He's house-trained, sleeps soundly through the night, rides quietly in the car, and has excellent manners around the house. He doesn't beg during meals, doesn't counter surf, and is perfectly content entertaining himself with a toy when you're busy. While he enjoys spending time outside exploring and sniffing around the yard, he's not one to spend hours running laps-he'd much rather come back inside and snuggle up next to you.<br/><br/>Peter is also a social boy who genuinely enjoys the company of other dogs. When meeting new canine friends, he's polite and respectful, and once he feels comfortable, he loves to romp and play. One thing we've learned is that he can become excited when he sees another dog while on leash and isn't able to go say hello. He may let out some enthusiastic squeaky barks because he's eager to make a new friend. Fortunately, he's a smart, eager-to-please dog who responds well to guidance, and with continued positive reinforcement and consistency, we believe he'll continue making great progress in this area.<br/>One of Peter's most endearing qualities is just how trusting and easygoing he is. He welcomes affection from everyone he meets, has done well around men, women, crowds, and everyday noises, and handles being touched all over with remarkable patience. Whether you're picking him up, checking his paws, or helping him settle in, he remains calm, gentle, and cooperative.<br/>Peter isn't looking for perfection-he's simply looking for someone who will appreciate the wonderful dog he already is and continue helping him become his very best self.
