Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

Meet Peter! Peter is a very handsome 9 month old Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. He was found on the side of the road dragging his front leg. He was extremely hungry and tired. After consultation with our vet it was determined that the leg had to be amputated. It was almost 4 inches longer than the others and he would never have been able to lead a normal life with it. Now he is able to run and play and he can't wait to find a forever family of his very own. Only having three legs has not slowed him down one bit. He does great with other dogs and cats and loves children. He is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via PETS transport services upon adoption. His adoption fee is $400 and includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, and transport costs.

Second Chances is a rescue organization based out of Pontotoc, Mississippi which adopts dogs and puppies all over the Northeastern United States. All of our dogs and puppies are kept in private foster homes in Mississippi until adopted. Our dogs are NEVER in a facility.
