Pete's Story

Meet Pete! If you’re looking for a beach-loving adventure buddy with a goofy heart of gold, Pete is your guy. This handsome boy lights up the moment he smells ocean air—sand under his paws and a salty breeze in his fur is his absolute dream. Whether he’s trotting along the shoreline, sniffing every seashell, or exploring new trails with curious enthusiasm, Pete is happiest when he’s discovering the world by your side. After a day of adventuring, Pete turns into the ultimate snugglebug. His favorite way to sleep? Flat on his back, paws in the air, with the confidence of a dog who knows he’s safe and loved. It’s impossible not to smile when you see it. Pete is sweet, loyal, and ready for a family who will share in his love of exploration—and maybe a beach trip or two. He is being sponsored by our Reid Krucky fund. This means that his adoption fee will be waived and he will be sent home with a goody bag to help him get set up in his new home. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion with a silly streak, come meet Pete at the Mo'ili'ili campus today. He just might be your perfect match!i

Hawaiian Humane Society's Adoption Policy
A photo ID is required at the time of all adoptions. Hawaiian Humane operates on a first come, first served basis, if you complete a questionnaire for a particular pet online, that does not reserve the pet. To best serve you, check in at least 30 minutes before closing to meet with an adoptions representative. Please note that if you wish to conduct a meet-and-greet between your dog and one of our available dogs, due to the high volume of visitors, you may be asked to wait outside our gate with your pet until an adoptions representative is available or reschedule for a different day.
