Perdita <3's Story
Hi there!

My name is Perdita and I was transferred to SBAVT Rescue with my 10 puppies from a local shelter in February. I took great care of my puppies and they are all starting to go to new homes of their own, now it is my turn. I am a little shy around men and still get startled by loud noises and fast movements sometimes, but I warm up with time.

I am a young, sweet girl that is still learning some basic manners. I LOVE to sleep on the couch and in bed with you. I also really LOVE other medium-large playful dogs (I haven’t been tested with small dogs or kids, but would likely do just fine with proper introductions). I’ve been around 2 kitties in my foster home and do want to chase them, but mostly just to play.

I would do best with a fenced yard and someone that is home more often than not. I really don’t like to be crated, but I’ve done well left out with the other dogs at my foster home for short periods of time while my foster parents leave. I am young and still learning not to jump, surf the counters, and chew things I’m not supposed to when I’m bored (like paper towels and blankets).

I do sadly have heartworm disease due to not being kept on prevention as a young dong and am currently undergoing treatment for it. This is curable and the rescue will educate you on any precautions that need to be taken while I’m going through treatment should you want to adopt me (I sure hope you do). I will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, fecal tested prior to adoption along with having a full panel of wellness blood work done and I’ve been on Simparica Trio (monthly oral heartworm/flea/tick prevention) while in my foster home:

Please reach out to the rescue if you’d like to apply to adopt me, I hope you do!
