But playing fetch or frisbee with older childern (10+) is his favorite. He is an energetic and playful dog who thrives on interactive play and physical activities, but he is totally down for pets and snuggles once the day's activities are done. His enthusiasm and zest for life, paired with his affectionate nature, make Percy the perfect companion. Percy knows the "sit," "down," "stay," and "wait" commands and is working hard on learning his "come" command. He is house-trained and crate trained. He was also trained on an invisible fence, walks nicely on leash, and "heels" when asked. Percy gets along with other dogs, he has a rough play style and does best kept in check with commands that are firm not harsh, and he in the past he was okay with cats. Overall, he is incredibly loving and devoted. With the right guidance and consistent training, Percy will thrive and become a well-mannered and cherished member of your family. He is always eager to explore new places and make new friends, both human and canine. If you're ready to embrace his spirited personality and help him grow, Percy is ready to bring joy and adventure into your life!

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends that all new adopters enroll their new pet in obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention, and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.

Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
