Percy's Story

Percy arrived at our shelter as a stray. Shy and fearful at first, he is now itching to get out of his kennel to explore and meet people and other dogs. He's about a year old so he is somewhere between puppy and adult. He's probably fully grown at 52 pounds.

Percy is learning to socialize with other dogs. He doesn't seem interested in the cats at our shelter. He loves to run and enjoy the sunshine in our fenced area. He runs up to us, lies down on his back, and waits for the belly scratches. Percy has his whole life ahead of him, and is so very ready to find the person or people who will love him and help him grow into a good, loyal companion. Come meet Percy!

Thank you for considering Percy and supporting our small, rural animal shelter. Adopting save lives! Powell County Animal Shelter 's Adoption Policy
We have an application form that gives us information about potential adopters' homes and family situations. This helps us to determine if an animal will be safe in their new environment, and if the new owner would be willing and financially able to care for a new pet and to commit to keeping it for the span of its natural life. In addition to logistical and practical questions, we encourage potential owners to think about how they will live daily with a new pet, and to understand what a lifelong commitment to a pet means.
